HEALTH
Please do not bring your child if he/she is sick; I can only care for children with mild cold like symptoms (clear runny nose, slight cough, and no fever). Per Health Department regulations children will not be allowed to attend the daycare if he or she exhibit symptoms such as:
There are three important issues in determining when a child is too ill to attend a child care program:
Note: This sickness policy applies to my family or me as well. If I am unavailable due to illness, you will be notified by 6:00 am at the most. Payment for the days that I am not available is not required.
Medication:
I can administer medication if needs, but only if the Medication Consent Form has been signed. All medicine must be in the original container with the child’s name clearly written on it. Written instructions with the child’s name, dose and times, needs to accompany the medication and properly storage.
Medical Emergency:
In case of a serious accident or sudden illness requiring medical attention, the following procedures are followed.
For minor injuries like bumps and bruises, I will provide home first aid. If the injury is more serious ( for example needs stitches, broken arm, or dislocation) the parent will be notified immediately. Parents will be responsible for all costs involved in emergency medical treatment, including emergency transportation if required.
Each child is required to have on file a health statement, which includes a record of up to date immunizations and the signature of the child’s source of medical care. The immunization record must be completed at the time of enrolment or within thirty days after enrolment. I have on file a signed form authorizing emergency care. Emergency numbers for reaching parents or guardian and another authorized person must also be on file. No child who arrives at the Daycare noticeably ill with a rash, or with a fever will be admitted for the day. In the event a child contracts a communicable disease and exposes the other children, notice of such exposure will be posted, and inform to the Health Nurse and parents will be notified when they pick up their children. The ill child will not be allowed to return to the Daycare until the period of contagion has passed and with the note of his or her doctor.
Please inform me of any medical disorders in the Basic Information sheet such as allergies, seizures, etc. so that I may be prepared to handle the situation.
