POLICY ABOUT PREVENTION OF VIRUS IN GEORGI’S HOME
This Policy for Georgi’s Home Daycare is in accordance with the advising of the Public Health Authorities and measures to take in daycare in order to minimize the risk for contracting COVI-19 and any virus for this matter.
In order to do that we are taking environmental, administrative, and personal measures to follow for everybody involved in the daycare.
Environmental measures.
1.- As usual, the children will go outside every day. However, is recommended to plan more activities outdoor. So, I implemented my backyard, space, the deck and outdoor basement area to have more play areas and more ventilated spaces.
2.-Windows will be open to ventilate the areas inside as usual in summertime we do that.
3.- We reorder the areas in order to have more space play for the kids and to have them more separated.
4.- In the kitchen table will be two children seated for and one in highchair. The other two children will seat in another table.
5.-In the painting area we will have two children painting in the table and two in the easel and one in the small table. We will be together but with more space between children.
6.-Outdoor we have 5 bikes for each child and label helmets for each.
7.-Playground areas are safe, but we need to use hand sanitizer and avoid touching faces. and avoid crowded playgrounds.
8.-My group is small, and at this age we have solitary play (the children want to play by themselves), play parallel (close to each other but not in the same activity) and cooperative play (the cooperative play usually is 2 or 3 kids in the play)
9.-I have removed toys that kids use for playing pretend and put in their mouth (cups, spoons and food toys), and change for other activities.
10.-Also I have removed stuff animals.
11.- The distance between mats are adequate and the bedding is kept in a Ziploc bag with the child’s name on it and it is washing weekly. The mat is cleaning daily after use.
12.-Every child has his own label mat.
13.-If the child become ill in the daycare, I designate a separate area for the child to rest with a camera to monitor the child.
Administrative Measures.
14.- No other adult than the caregiver will enter the centre or visit it unless an emergency or a visit from the nurse or the licensing officer. This measure is an emergency one until the risk of covid 19 pass.
13.-During pick up and drop off the parent preferable the same parent that drop the child off will enter only the entrance.
14.-If other parent is also coming at the same time. Only One are allowed to come in order to keep social distance. The other parent will wait outside until the parent inside finished.
15.- Inside the parent will use the hand sanitizer and wipes provided, Wipe or use your own pen for the attendance sheet, use a wipe to touch the handle,.
16.-The parents will also take the health record to be signed every day. And will answer the questions about the child’s health
17. There will be a sign at the door entrance showing to stop if you have any symptoms.
18. The parent will take off the child’s shoes and put the inside shoes.
19.-I will be greeting the child maintaining physical distance and asking questions about the child’s health and then take the child to wash the hands.
20.-I will encourage personal space and respect, greeting without hand shaking.
21.- The daycare hours will be from 8:30 to 5:15 max. I am not going to have early drop off before 8:00 a.m. This time give me enough time to do all the daily cleaning and disinfected preparation before the children’ arrival.
Cleaning and disinfection and Personal Measures
22.-We clean and disinfect everyday floors, counters, toys and bathrooms, that was mandatory however, we add more articles and places to be disinfected, doorknobs, light switches, faucets.
23.-We use bleach formula for cleaning and disinfected and we use disinfected wipes for computer and some surfaces. We clean and disinfected, three times the kitchen, floor, table clean, and counter, and sanitize the toys after every use.
24.-we will have hand sanitizer at all time before, during and after play outside. If the children’ hands are too dirty and there is not water close, we will have also wet wipes and then use the hand sanitizer.
25.- The children have their own dish, cup. That are clean and sanitize after use, the spoon and forks are only use once and dishwasher daily.
26.-The children do not share food, cups, plates. The children must bring a new toothbrush and their own tooth paste as well as sun scream.
27.-Do not bring personal conform item, unless they are wash and can be laundered at the end of each day.
28.-The diaper change and potty are clean and disinfect every use. I use gloves to change diaper or clean the potty. Before and after use of gloves I wash my hands and the child’s hands.
29.-The children wash their hands for 20 seconds at arrive, when come from outside, when play with sand, playdough or paint, after go to the bathroom, before eating, when sneeze. We sing 10 little Indians, twinkle, twinkle little star, happy birthday in Spanish and English and ABC.
30.-We practice and encourage sneeze and cough in their elbow.
